How to Divorce a Narcissist

What works when you're divorcing someone who lies, hides money, and turns every conversation into a fight.

If you're divorcing someone with narcissistic or high-conflict traits, you've already worked out that the usual advice doesn't hold up.

You can't reason with someone who twists the facts, and the moment you offer a fair compromise, they treat it as a loss and dig in. So you end up second-guessing yourself, which makes it even harder to move forward with any confidence.

That's why I've put together this 4-day workshop: to help you understand what you're dealing with, protect yourself, and walk into your divorce with a clear strategy instead of fear.

By the end of the four days, you'll know how a narcissistic ex is likely to behave, which approaches work against it, and what your next step is.

Why it's different

When narcissistic traits are involved, divorce becomes about control.

Divorce is hard enough on its own. When narcissistic traits are involved, it stops being about resolving things and turns into something about control. A lot of women find the same cycles they lived with in the marriage carrying straight on through the divorce: the manipulation, the guilt, the intimidation, the financial pressure.

Once you can see the patterns for what they are, you stop reacting to them and start responding with a plan. That's what these four days are built to give you.

A quick note on language: I talk about "narcissistic" and "high-conflict" behaviour as a way of describing patterns, the controlling and manipulating and fact-twisting that so many women come up against in divorce. It isn't about putting a clinical label on your ex. What matters is recognising the behaviour and knowing how to protect yourself from it.
The Four Days

What we'll cover.

Day 1 · 21st July

How Divorce Works, and Getting Safe

The map of how a divorce actually works, and your first steps to be safe and protected.

You'll learn:
  • How divorce works: no-fault, and the three separate tracks (the divorce, the finances, the children)
  • The key terms explained in plain English, with no jargon
  • Why the money isn't sorted until you make it legally binding
  • How to protect your privacy, your documents and your home first
  • Personal safety, and why the riskiest time is often after you leave
  • How your ex weaponises delay and pressure, and how to take that power away
Day 2 · 22nd July

Your Finances and What You're Entitled To

Understand the money, and stop believing you'll be left with nothing.

We'll cover:
  • What goes into "the pot": property, pensions, savings and debts
  • Why the split is based on need, not a flat half
  • Your right to full financial disclosure, and what to do when your ex won't give it
  • How money gets hidden or moved, and how it's spotted
  • Decoding the money threats: you can't be forced out, it isn't "just half," a withheld allowance is abuse
  • Why your ex can be made to help pay your legal fees
Day 3 · 23rd July

Your Children, the System, and Staying Strong

Protecting your children from the conflict, understanding your options, and pacing yourself for the long haul.

We'll cover:
  • Child arrangements, decided on your children's best interests
  • Parallel parenting when normal co-parenting won't work
  • Keeping the children out of the middle
  • The routes: when mediation helps and when it's a trap, using a solicitor cost-effectively, and what court is really like
  • Protecting your own mental health, with boundaries and support
  • Why the self-doubt was built, and how to take it back
Day 4 · 24th July

Communication, Negotiation and Evidence

How to deal with your ex without being pulled in or rushed, and keep a record that protects you.

You'll learn:
  • Communicating to protect yourself, not to persuade someone who won't be persuaded
  • What to respond to, and what to leave
  • Holding your position in negotiation without shrinking your needs
  • Why nothing binds until the court stamps it, so you can't be rushed
  • Keeping evidence and records that protect you
  • Building your plan for what comes next

There'll also be time for your questions.

Is this you?

This workshop is for women.

Whether you're considering divorce, already decided, or in the thick of proceedings, it's for you if:

  • You're thinking about divorce from a partner with narcissistic or controlling traits
  • You've decided to divorce but don't know where to start
  • You're already in proceedings and want more clarity, strategy or support
  • Your ex won't communicate reasonably, won't compromise, or keeps changing their story
  • You feel scared, overwhelmed or guilty about moving forward
  • You've experienced manipulation, gaslighting or boundary violations and want to understand them
  • You want practical tools rather than generic advice
  • You want to protect your mental health, your finances and your children along the way
By the end of the week

What you'll walk away with.

  • A clearer understanding of the behaviour you're up against
  • More confidence in your own decisions
  • Better ways to communicate
  • Stronger boundaries
  • A practical divorce strategy that's yours
  • A real sense of the risks and pitfalls to steer around
  • A clear idea of what to do next
Most of all, you'll stop feeling like you're constantly reacting, and start feeling like you have a plan.

Your Host

Hi, I'm Bhavna.

I used to be a family lawyer, I'm a mum of three, and I've been through my own divorce, so I know what it's like to sit there frightened, unsure about the money, and worried about getting it wrong.

I've helped hundreds of women find their way through divorce with more clarity and a lot less fear. The way I work pulls the legal and financial side together with the emotional weight of it, because divorce reaches well beyond the paperwork. It's about protecting yourself and building something secure for you and your children.

You're not alone in this, and you're not trapped. You have rights and you have options, and you're going to be okay.
